INSPIRED BuY...sparkles

holiday season = lots of parties and gatherings. parties and gatherings = festive outfits. i'm usually not that into sparkles, glitter and sequins, but during the holidays i can't get enough of it! sparkles make everything more fun. the biggest keys to wearing sparkles are 1- keep it to one shiny piece at a time and 2- keep the rest of your outfit simple.

INSPIRED BuY...the angel ball

the angel ball is a fundraising event for gabrielle's angel foundation for cancer research, which i will be attending tomorrow thanks to my guess account exec. i'm really excited to be a part of this event, because it supports an amazing cause and i've never been to anything like it before. that said, i needed to go out and find myself a black-tie appropriate dress. yesterday i spent a few hours at bloomingdales 59th street but didn't find anything that suited my needs. they had some great dresses, but i couldn't seem to find what i was looking for in my size. so today, i stopped by the dress floor at macy's and found two great bcbg dresses. then mom came to the rescue with an awesome little number from jessica mcclintock (someplace i haven't even really thought about since high school). all are shown below. i'll let you know which i choose to wear!

INSPIRED BuY...twiggy

when i think of mini dresses, twiggy is the first person to come to mind. she was (relatively) short and had a boyish figure, but always looked sleek and sexy. the long-sleeved mini dress made a comeback this winter. it's great because the "mini" makes your legs look long, and the long sleeves prevent you from bearing too much. i loved this particular dress because of its versatility- the off-white lace makes it fresh and bright and the cut makes it translatable for any season.
