INSPIRED BuY...mickey's christmas carol

happy christmas eve, everyone! mickey's christmas carol is one of my favorite christmas movies (2nd to "it's a wonderful life"). tiny tim, bob cratchit, and the three ghosts help teach scrooge what christmas is really all about- if you haven't seen the mickey version, i highly recommend it. the outfit i'm wearing below is inspired by tiny tim and is what i will be wearing for christmas eve dinner tonight.

INSPIRED BuY...taylor swift

lately, i've been slightly obsessed with taylor swift's newest album, speak now (tell no one). her music and lyrics may not be that complex, but she knows how to say what a lot of people are thinking in a pretty straightforward yet unique way. in addition, she has pretty cool style- she's got that whole "girl-next-door / i-just-rolled-out-of-bed-but-still-look-cute" thing going for her. taylor swift actually owns the sweater i'm wearing below, but i swear i bought it before i knew she had it. this sweater is great because its so big and baggy so you can layer it over almost anything.

INSPIRED BuY...the color red

i tend to gravitate towards muted colors (black, grey, beige, olive green, etc.) but recently i've been really into the color red. i'm sure subconsciously it's because christmas is around the corner, but regardless it's a nice change for me. the last two sweaters i bought were red- this pullover crewneck from crewcuts and the red cardigan i'm wearing below from madewell. i wore this outfit to work, but i feel like its the perfect outfit to pack for a long weekend away at a log cabin. it's so cozy and warm. (this outfit also makes me think of the american girl doll, molly, and this hot water bottle she had).

INSPIRED BuY...sparkles

holiday season = lots of parties and gatherings. parties and gatherings = festive outfits. i'm usually not that into sparkles, glitter and sequins, but during the holidays i can't get enough of it! sparkles make everything more fun. the biggest keys to wearing sparkles are 1- keep it to one shiny piece at a time and 2- keep the rest of your outfit simple.
