INSPIRED BuY...backpacks

i've been really into backpacks lately.  well, i guess i've been really into backpacks ALWAYS.  some of you may remember the massive l.l. bean that i used to tote around in high school (and, err, college).  and if you've known me for even longer, you may remember my tigger backpack (yikes).

backpacks are so practical - they make it easy to carry a lot of stuff, plus your hands are free!  and since the backpack is the bag silhouette of the year,  there are so many cool ones to choose from!

some of my faves:

  epperson    fjällräven   j.crew      jansport     epperson
  infusion    o'hanlon     o'hanlon    herschel      all-son
ll bean       will        will     free people    jansport
   roxy        dusen        ecote       baggu         baggu

INSPIRED BuY...fresh & fancy farms

exciting news!  fresh & fancy farms opens this weekend!

i'm thrilled to have the opportunity to help my dear friend, meg low, prepare for the launch.  we'll be painting, creating and brainstorming (while drinking lots of coffee & listening to cheery tunes through these fresh speakers) for the next two days.

some things i packed/wish i packed for my long weekend at the farm:

1. hemp rucksack - infusion
2. wayfarers - rayban
3. suspender chinos - levi's
4. polaroid camera - the impossible project
5. hat - gap (last year)
6. rain boots - hunter
7. apron - pier 1
8. handkerchief - the hill-side (via hickorees)

stay fresh, stay fancy

oh, and if you want to make your mom smile this mother's day, pick up some flowers from fresh & fancy farms and make her these scrumptious waffles!

INSPIRED BuY...weekend favorites

for my nine-to-five, the dress code is business casual, so on the weekends i like to "dress down".  here are some of the recent additions to my weekend wardrobe (and reasons why you should own them too):

1. vintage l.l.bean anorak (snagged this at brooklyn flea)- a great lightweight piece that can also protect you from rain.  i love the bold color.
2. faux glasses (urban outfitters)- throw these on when you don't feel like wearing makeup.
3. "saturday" lightweight sweater (jcrew)- great layering piece, so comfy.
4. "hipsters i met and liked" notebook (archie grand)- these notebooks are great, and there's one for everyone.
5. chambray shirt (madewell)- you can wear this shirt with ANYTHING.
6. bota shoes (toms)- so comfy, and with your purchase a child in need will get a pair of shoes, too!
7. striped tank (jcrew)- simple & comfy; a great layering piece (gift from mom)
